Plain warts appear on the face and neck. They are round, flat, and smooth. They grow often on areas of the body that have prolonged exposure to the sun. Plantar warts are painful and they affect the feet and the hands. They appear on the heels or toes. Warts are contagious, especially genital warts
Most warts are relatively harmless, especially ones appearing on the palms and feet. However few strains of HPV, which causes genital warts, may lead to cervical cancer.
