Dissolving Filler

With the popular culture making fillers more accessible and affordable, there has been a rise in cases of complications because of non-certified injectors. It takes great hands-on training and a guided mentorship to learn the art. But due to some unqualified people trying to cut corners, it results in complications and the patients have to spend extra for damage correction. This results to a permanent instilling of fear about the procedure and the art earning a bad name. At Opulence Clinic, Dr.Patel having acquired his assessment & injector skills from his intensive training in Italy, is well-trained in managing aesthetic complications by other injectors.

We use the best Hyaluronidase (Hyalase) to remove dermal fillers of hyaluronic origin only when they have had an undesirable outcome e.g. lumps / uneven or migration of the filler to the nearby area.

As for the other non-hyaluronic based fillers , surgical removal remains the only option.

1. What Is Hyalase?

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme which can be injected to dissolve dermal filler and is the best treatment option for those looking at dissolving lip filler and reducing any lumps or puffiness associated with dermal filler in the face or body.

Hyaluronidase is a medicine which should only be administered by a doctor skilled in its use, only in a clinical environment, and only after a consulation and a test patch as there is a risk of serious allergic reaction.

2. What Does Dermal Filler Dissolving Treatment Involve?

You will have a “Hyaluronidase consultation” with one of our clinic doctors.

The consultation will determine if Hyaluronidase treatment is suitable for you. If you wish to proceed with the treatment, a test patch will be scheduled. This can be on same day or following day, whichever suits.

Numbing cream will be applied to the target area. Prior to injection, the Hyaluronidase dose is diluted with saline using the appropriate titration.

Routinely an X-Ray or Facial Ultra-sound or Facial MRI is done prior to know the exact position and depth of the problem.

Hyaluronidase dissolves some hyaluronic acid dermal filler immediately and continues to work for up to 7 days.

3. What will I feel during and after the procedure ?

After thoroughly numbing the area, the hyaluronidase is injected using an extra fine 32G needle which is about the same thickness of the human hair. At the time of injection, it feels like any other needle prick.

As the medicine sets into motion, there is a slight burning sensation that soon passes away. We use a special cryoprobe to give instant cooling effect to the skin.

Over the next 2-3 days the patient could have a slight bit of a swelling as the filler melts to water. This in turn is absorbed by the body’s lymphatics and eliminated from the body.

Since each individuals lymphatics are different, swelling can vary from 1-3 days. They are advised to drink water and rest as much as possible with some dietary restrictions to facilitate a faster settling time.
